With more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, Dr Lutz Weisser not only developed extensive expertise in the areas of airport privatization, strategic airport development and master planning, but also acquired a comprehensive understanding of financial processes and business planning. He has managed a wide variety of projects worldwide, particularly in Europe, the USA and Latin America. Since the end of the 1990s he has been providing support in planning, implementation and airport privatization projects.
After managing several global projects together with the experts from Munich Airport International GmbH, Dr Lutz Weisser took over the position of managing director there and since then has been continuously working on further expanding its presence. His successes include setting up an airport planning company, integrating it into a multi airport operator plus opening the new Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport as Managing Director of MAI, which he manages as a multi-airport operator with sales responsibility of around EUR 110 million and a total of 200 employees in 2023.
