With the “Summer of Discontent” now behind us, summer 2023 must be “the summer of no excuses”. Airports are once again enjoying 2019 levels of travellers passing through their terminals and passengers are excited to experience freedom once again. However, with global passenger numbers expected to grow within the next decade the sector must ensure that it is prepared to handle the volumes expected, whilst also delivering an impeccable airport experience for both passengers and employees. Passenger expectations have shifted, and airports must now revisit their passenger personas and evaluate whether they desire an experience that is remarkably unremarkable, or one which is elevated.
