Ramón Miró is officially the new President and General Director of Corporación Quiport, the concessionaire in charge of the administration, operation and maintenance of the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito.

Quiport’s chief executive is a US citizen, born in El Salvador. He has been involved for more than 15 years as a shareholder of airport concessions, such as the Quito International Airport, Ecuador and the Juan Santamaría Airport in San José, Costa Rica, two of the most awarded airports in the Americas.

Before joining Quiport, Ramón Miró served as President of HAS-DC, a Houston-based US pioneer in airport investments and consulting in Latin America and a subsidiary of Houston Airport System, the company that manages the three airports that city. HAS-DC is also one of the three shareholders of Quiport, along with Brazil’s CCR and Odinsa from Colombia.

As a seasoned industry executive, Ramón Miró is passionate about promoting public-private partnerships and forming business-government alliances. In addition to the general management of airports, Mr. Miró also has experience in corporate finance and in the energy sector.

As President and CEO of Corporación Quiport, his objective is to further establish the successful management of Mariscal Sucre, find new opportunities for improvement and overcome the current health crisis, focusing his efforts on continuing to reactivate connectivity and providing excellent services to all users.

Regarding his new functions, Mr. Miró has stated that he arrives with great enthusiasm, very committed to working for Quiport and the Quito Airport. “It is an honor to assume this position and join such a committed and passionate group of professionals; I thank the shareholders of Quiport for their confidence in my capabilities and I want to tell the people of Quito and Ecuador that I will maintain the management line that has taken the airport to preeminent places on the international stage, to the pride of this wonderful country and its people, seeking to reach new heights”.

Ramón Miró studied Engineering at Trinity University (San Antonio, Texas), has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University) and obtained the “International Airport Professional” certification (IAP; 2013), awarded after having completed the “Airport Management Professional Accreditation Program” (AMPAP), offered jointly by the Airports Council International (ACI) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which is the directing organization of civil aviation worldwide.
